Home Based Business Ideas
The purpose of this website is to expose you to some business ideas that you may want to consider. Obviously, I
like the business ideas on this website or else they wouldn't be here but that doesn't mean you will like them.
That's ok. I hope this website makes you think about business ideas that suit you.
I hope I don't try to sell you on every idea. That's not my intention but sometimes I get a little
excited about the opportunity. At the bottom of every page (except this one) there is a comment area where you
can post your questions, and opinions about whatever is posted on that web page. This feature will allow you to see
what other people may be thinking and comment on their views too.
There's one thing you can say for sure about business ideas and that is some are good and some are
downright awful. Some work and some don't work no matter how hard you work. Of course, some business ideas are
great but they needed more work, more commitment.
The key thing about a business idea is that it should be an expression of you. You will be the magic in your
business so you have to believe in the business idea or else you are simply not going to succeed. The trick is to
find a business ideally suited to your personality. When you do what you love, the chances for success increase
dramatically.
Looking at business ideas sometimes helps you come up with ideas of your own and sometimes looking at other
business ideas can help put your business ideas into perspective. Many people believe, for good reason, that
business ideas can be expensive and some are but not all. Obviously, what ever business idea you decide on must be
somehow affordable for you. You either have the money or can borrow it. Before you go borrowing anything make sure
you know the business very well. There is a massive difference between what looks like a good idea and what is a
good idea. Unfortunate as it may sound, all business ideas end up as numbers. Ideas have to be translated to
numbers to determine if they work or not. Just because you think a product is great doesn't mean it's going to sell
and sell in sufficient numbers to make your business idea work for you. Believe it or not, a job can sound good
after a few years in the wrong business.
I don't want this to sound negative but you must look at the pros and cons of every business. The most
important thing is the market for your business. Do you really know your market? Your product? Do you know who
your customers are? Do you know how to reach them? How much will you have to invest? How much money will you make
per product, per month or per year? How will you advertise your business? Will it be home based or will you have a
storefront? Have you considered a website? Will it feature online shopping? Can you survive without a paycheck for
6 months or a year? Can you do your business part time without quitting your present job?
The answers to these questions should help you decide to go ahead or not. Paradoxically, government programs
about setting up home based or small businesses are a good source of information. One note of caution though is
that you should only take advice from people who have had or own a business. This means that career
civil servants, your neighbour or relative who has always had a job are not the best people to ask advice from
about a business. It would be the same as asking your doctor to fix your car. Your doctor is no doubt a smart man
or women but he or she probably knows next to nothing about your car. (unless it's a Lexis)

Ideas come in all sorts of shapes and sizes. Which one fits you?
Home Based Business Ideas
Many business ideas are born in the kitchen as the
header for this website suggests. You only need one really good idea or product to start. When I began
distributing , it was only one 7 grain bread that made it possible .
1. Website creation and design
2. Write an e book and publish it on Amazon
3. Online greeting card business
4. Create your Own Social Network, Forum or Online Community
5. Healthy food online shopping portal
6. Conventional bread distribution business
7. Business Consulting
I have been personally involved with some of these businesses for a number of years now
so they have stood the test of time which is really important. There are many other businesses that I have looked
at, joined and have left for one reason or another mostly because they did not deliver what they said they would or
because they did not have any real value. Being an entrepreneur you are often thinking of moving on to other
businesses. This is what makes being a business owner exciting and rewarding. You never ever get bored.
